ADVENT-RED Named Premier Sire at Royal Winter Fair

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, November 25, 2008 — 7HO7872 KHW Kite ADVENT-RED-ET took Premier Sire honors at the 2008 Toronto Royal Winter Fair National Red and White Show, Toronto, Canada. In addition to his daughters winning junior champion and honorable mention grand champion, ADVENT-RED sired four class winners.

“ADVENT-RED has certainly proven he sires ‘The Showtime Advantage,’” said Charlie Will, manager, Holstein sire selection for Select Sires. “ADVENT-RED daughters are making a huge impact in the United States and Canada. His heifers have dominated on the colored shavings for a few years now, and they continue to develop into great young cows with beautiful udders. While this is ADVENT-RED’s first time being honored as Premier Sire at a major show, this certainly won’t be his last.”

Underwood Advent Jane-Red (EX-91), owned by Crackholm Holsteins, Richmond, Quebec, was reserve senior champion and honorable mention grand champion after topping the 4-year-old class. Owned by Richard Green, Del., Ropies Advent Java-Red was second in the milking yearling heifer/ junior 2-year-old class.

ADVENT-RED simply dominated the heifer classes. Greenlea Advent Lega-Red, owned by Mike and Julie Duckett and Jim and Nancy Junemann, Wis., took junior champion after winning the summer yearling heifer class. Juniper Advent Scarlet-Red, owned by Crasdale Farms, topped the senior yearling heifer class and Sherona-Hill-I KKA Red Clover won the junior heifer calf class. She is owned by Barclay Phoennix, Richard Green and Sébastien Dion.
