It’s Unanimous: BLITZ Now Excellent (95)



PLAIN CITY, Ohio, November 11, 2008 — A committee of classifiers from Holstein Association U.S.A., Brattleboro, Vt., voted unanimously to raise the official type-conformation score of 7HO5708 Fustead Emory BLITZ-ET to Excellent (95)

“BLITZ is now one of the few elite sires in the breed to pass committee and achieve a final score of greater than 94 points,” said Charlie Will, manager, Holstein sire selection for Select Sires. “The committee praised BLITZ for how freely he moves on an exceptional set of feet and legs and his youthful appearance and impressive dairy frame.”

BLITZ became the fourth sire in Select Sires history to sell a million units of semen in 2006. He is now approaching 1.4 million units sold with the possibility of becoming the highest-selling sire in Select Sires history.

Additionally, he ranks among the top-25 in the breed among all sires, standing behind 7HO7560 Zimmerview BLITZ JINTX-ET, one of his five sons that has returned to active-A.I. at Select Sires.

Sampled through the Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™), BLITZ graduated to Select’s active lineup in 2001. He was bred by Brian and Wendy Fust, Wausau, Wis.
