Select Sires Hires Jeff Brown



PLAIN CITY, Ohio, May 19, 2009 — Select Sires has hired Jeff Brown as dairy progeny specialist. In this role, Brown is responsible for evaluating young sire daughters and determining their use in advertising. Brown is based out of the company’s headquarters in Plain City, Ohio.

Brown most recently served as a cattle fitter, hoof trimmer and herdsman for a number of farms, including R-Hart farm, a Brown Swiss operation, and Wakefield Farms, a Holstein dairy. He attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, where he majored in education and was a member of the football team.

Brown grew up on a registered Holstein dairy in Wapakoneta, Ohio, named Koneta Holsteins. He assisted with daily chores and management decisions. Today, Brown is co-owner of the farm where approximately 30 cows still carry the Koneta prefix.
