Select Sires Adds Four High-Components Breeds Graduates
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, April 23, 2009 — With the release of April 7 genetic evaluations, Select Sires graduates four new and exciting sires into the high-components breeds lineup, strengthening Select's offering in every breed.
7JE808 Fastlane AVENUE, Select's first ISDK Q Impuls son, enters active-A.I. as a type specialist and component improver at +.14% Fat and +.10% Protein. AVENUE hails from the well-known Anthem cow family and his dam is the Excellent (92%) 7JE399 Al-Top All AMERICAN from the Excellent (95%) Berretta Anthem. AVENUE daughters are tall with excellent dairy strength and excel in great fore udders and rear udder height and width (+7.75 Jersey Udder Index™).
Select's newest Milk improver among Jerseys is 7JE817 Cave Creek KWARTZ-ET at +1,794 Milk. KWARTZ is a component yield specialist (+79 Fat and +51 Protein) and he sires highly productive cows with moderate frame and a good balance of dairy strength. His dam is an Excellent (90%) Henery-P daughter with two records over 27,000 pounds of milk and over 5.5% fat. KWARTZ ranks among the top-10 in the breed for GJPI™ at +238 and is the No. 4 Jersey for Net Merit at +$517.
7JE809 Sunset Canyon DUCE-ET enters Select's lineup as a balanced option for great udders and high components (+.13% Protein and +.31% Fat). DUCE is a 7JE535 Windy Willow Mantana JACE out of an Excellent (92%) ISDK Fyn Lemvig that has two records over 26,000 pounds of milk and twice over 1,650 pounds of fat and 1,100 pounds of protein. A Herdlife Builder™, DUCE sires moderate-sized cattle with a steep foot angle and shallow udders.
