Select Sires Adds Six High-Components Breeds Graduates
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, January 29, 2009 — With the release of Jan. 13 genetic evaluations, Select Sires graduates six new and exciting sires into the high-components breeds lineup, strengthening Select’s offering in every breed.
7JE797 Bush River Belles BOWTIE-ET debuts among the top-10 in the breed for Type at +2.0 and fifth for Jersey Udder Index™ (JUI™) at +7.67. Backed by six generations of Excellent dams, BOWTIE is Select’s first WF Brook Bomber son. BOWTIE brings together four Master Breeder Herds in one pedigree. He was bred at Bush River Jerseys, S.C., his sire hails from Waverly Farm, Va., his dam is from Cedarcrest, Ala., and the dam’s sire is from Schultz Jerseys, Va.
The new No. 2 Milk Jersey bull at Select Sires is 7JE789 Summetz Jace JACKPOT-ET. JACKPOT sires tall, dairy daughters with close teat placement and wide rear udders. He is sired by 7JE535 Windy Willow Montana JACE out of a Very Good (87%) Greenwood Poseidon-ET dam with more than 22,000 pounds of milk and over 1,050 pounds of fat. 7JE791 Molly Brook Jace FANFARE-ET is the exciting result of the mating of a top-ranking cow and top-ranking sire. Sired by JACE, FANFARE hails from the world-renown Flower family. With +1,028 Milk, +50 Fat, +32 Protein and +1.6 Type he sires a balance of production and type. At +1.9 Productive Life, FANFARE carries the Herdlife Builder™ designation.
