Select Sires Adds Two Showcase Selections High-Components Breeds Graduates
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, September 1, 2009 — With the release of Aug. 18 genetic evaluations, Select Sires graduates two new and exciting Showcase Selections™ sires into the high-components breeds lineup. In addition, Select’s elite sires of all high-components breeds continue to lead in several traits.
New Showcase Selections sire 7JE816 WF Centurn Seize the MOMENT-ET joins the Select Sires lineup as a components specialist with a show-winning pedigree. A 7JE329 Sooner CENTURION-ET son out of Hermitage Counciller Sheba (E-96%), MOMENT delivers the style and balance you expect. Sheba, the 2008 Reserve All-American aged cow, has earned many accolades on the colored shavings and performed well in production, making three records over 20,000 pounds of milk and twice over 1,000 pounds of fat. MOMENT supplies fancy udders that are carried high above the hock with fantastic attachments. He is a Herdlife Builder™ and tops the breed for Somatic Cell Score (2.71) and ranks ninth for Percent Protein (+0.10%).

7BS796 Old Mill WDE SUPREME ET *TM is Select’s newest Brown Swiss Showcase Selections release. Sired by Bridge View Prime Time, his dam is the world-renown, seven-time All-American Old Mill E Snickerdoodle OCS “3E94 3E97MS”. SUPREME heifers have already garnered attention with two top-10 fall calves at the 2008 World Dairy Expo and the 2008 All-Canadian fall calf. A Type specialist (+1.0) as expected, SUPREME ranks among the breed’s top-10 for Udder Composite (+1.10) and Feet and Leg Composite (+1.04).

7BS766 Blessing Banker AGENDA ET *TM, a calving-ease sire with gender SELECTed semen available, is a components specialist. He is the No. 2 sire in the breed for Percent Fat (+.15%) and the No. 6 sire for Percent Protein (+.06%). He also ranks second for FLC (+1.19) and ninth for UDC (+1.03).
