The Select Sires Semen Processing and Research internship is based at the Select Sires Headquarters in Plain City, Ohio. The purpose of this internship is to provide students with experience in bovine semen processing and freezing, product quality control, and research at the largest bull stud in North America. This position is open to all undergraduate students studying animal or dairy science or a related field. An applicant will preferably be entering his/her junior or senior year of undergraduate, but applicants planning on continuing education in a pertinent field will be considered. Hours will vary from 10 to 40 hours per week depending on the academic semester and the intern’s availability.

Duties would include, but are not limited to, performing semen quality control evaluations, semen extender preparation, general laboratory maintenance, administrative tasks, and assisting with research projects both in-house and potentially offsite. Ideally, a successful intern would be able to manage one or more research projects by the end of the internship.
