For years, producers have used the family of Select BIOCYCLE™ products as a solution to trying management problems.

Now Select BIOCYCLE PLUS ULTIMATE™ joins Select DTX™, Select BIOCYCLE and Select BIOCYCLE PLUS™. Manufactured by Agrarian Marketing Corporation, Middlebury, Ind., it is a new nutritional supplement that combines a unique L-form bacterium with other ingredients.

Designed for dairies feeding high-energy, high-protein diets, Select BIOCYCLE PLUS ULTIMATE stimulates the rumen microbial population to use more of the nutrients entering the cow.

What is the target? Rumen microbes, because a cow’s rumen is only as healthy as the natural rumen microbe population. Stimulating rumen microbes dramatically increases microbial protein, which results in less energy spilling, thus providing the potential for increased milk production.

Adequate components must be available in the cow’s ration for Select ULTIMATE to be successful. Select BioCycle Plus ULTIMATE provides an energy stimulus to the rumen microbes directly from microbial sugars and indirectly from enzymes that convert available carbohydrates to simple sugars.

Will this work in your herd? A laboratory assay of the ration can determine whether Select BioCycle Plus ULTIMATE is right for your operation. Work with your Select Sires representative to obtain a Rumen Microbial Index (RMI) calculation for your ration. It will analyze crude protein and energy to calculate maximum microbial activity.

Select ULTIMATE is fed at a rate of 0.5 ounces per cow per day.
